Collin Murray-Boyles is day-to-day with a finger injury and will not play in Sunday's Summer League game against the Nuggets. The 21-year-old forward's next matchup on Toronto's schedule is the Oct. 3 game against the Heat, and his finger issue leaves that appearance in question too.

What happened

Collin Murray-Boyles is day-to-day with a finger and arm injury, per the Sunday, Sept. 6 injury report. No previous status had been listed for the 21-year-old forward. The designation came out ahead of Toronto's Summer League game against the Nuggets, which Murray-Boyles will miss. Zulfi Sheikh of Sportsnet reported that the finger injury is why Murray-Boyles is sitting out Sunday's game. The report does not specify how the injury occurred or its severity beyond the day-to-day tag.

What it means for the Raptors

Toronto's next game is against the Heat on Saturday, Oct. 3, and Murray-Boyles' finger issue leaves his availability for it uncertain. Last season, he averaged 8.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 21.9 minutes across 57 games. If he is out again, the Raptors lean further on their established rotation: Brandon Ingram (33.8 minutes, 21.5 points), Scottie Barnes (33.5 minutes, 18.1 points), Immanuel Quickley (31.9 minutes, 16.4 points) and RJ Barrett (30.3 minutes, 19.3 points), with Jakob Poeltl anchoring the frontcourt at 25.0 minutes. The Raptors have not played a game this season, so there is no record to measure with or without him yet.

What to watch

The Raptors are expected to update Murray-Boyles' status on their next injury report. He is projected to return by Oct. 1, which would put him back in the mix before Toronto's game against the Heat on Oct. 3. Toronto's other day-to-day players — Chucky Hepburn, Nate Bittle, Alijah Martin and Immanuel Quickley — are also worth tracking as the team works through this stretch.

Is Collin Murray-Boyles playing vs. Heat?

He is day-to-day with a finger injury and has not been ruled in or out for the Oct. 3 game against Miami. His status is expected to be updated on a later injury report.

When will Collin Murray-Boyles be back?

He is expected back around Oct. 1, according to the injury report, ahead of Toronto's Oct. 3 game against the Heat.
