Wizards Enter 2026-27 at 0-0, Watching the Injury Report Before the Opener

Trae Young, Alex Sarr and Anthony Davis are all day-to-day early in camp, while Jamir Watkins is out for most of the year with a knee injury. Last season Washington went 17-65, and the roster now blends veterans like Davis, Young, Ayton and Middleton with a young core led by Sarr, Carrington, Coulibaly and rookies AJ Dybantsa and Felix Okpara.
The Roster Now
Washington's roster for 2026-27 mixes proven veterans with a deep group of young players. Trae Young, Anthony Davis, Deandre Ayton and Khris Middleton sit at the top of the rotation as the team's most experienced players. Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly, Bub Carrington, Kyshawn George, Tre Johnson and Will Riley make up a young core still early in their careers. AJ Dybantsa and Felix Okpara join as rookies. Washington finished last season, 2025-26, at 17-65. The offense ranked poorly with a 109.7 ORtg, and the defense was worse at 121.5 DRtg, producing a net rating of -11.8. The team played at a 102.5 pace, shot 53.5 effective field-goal percentage and 56.6 true shooting, and averaged 112.9 points per game. Anthony Davis led the scoring load with 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 20 games. Kyshawn George added 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists across 48 games. Bub Carrington played all 82 games and averaged 10.7 points with 4.6 assists. Alex Sarr put up 16.3 points and 7.4 rebounds in 48 games, while Deandre Ayton averaged 12.5 points and 8.0 rebounds over 72 games. Trae Young, limited to 15 games, still averaged 17.9 points and 8.0 assists.
Injury Report
Washington enters camp managing three day-to-day injuries.
