Blazers Enter 2026-27 With New Faces In, Old Names Out, Injuries To Watch

The roster looks different from a year ago: Jerami Grant, Kris Murray, Caleb Love and Matisse Thybulle are gone, while Jrue Holiday, Ja Morant, Robert Williams III and Jeremy Sochan are now in the mix alongside holdovers like Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara. Shaedon Sharpe is out long-term, and both Damian Lillard and Ja Morant are listed day-to-day to start camp.
Who's In, Who's Out
Portland's roster has turned over since last season. Jerami Grant and Kris Murray are now with the Grizzlies, Caleb Love is with the 76ers, and Matisse Thybulle is with the Lakers. In their place, the Trail Blazers list Jrue Holiday, Ja Morant, Robert Williams III and Jeremy Sochan on the current roster, joining returners Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara, Shaedon Sharpe, Donovan Clingan, Scoot Henderson and Damian Lillard. The roster spans a wide range of experience, from rookie Chris Youngblood and John Tonje to 17-year veteran Jrue Holiday and 13-year veteran Damian Lillard. Younger pieces like Donovan Clingan, Yang Hansen and Blake Wesley round out a group built around both new arrivals and familiar names from last season's rotation.
Last Season, By The Numbers
Deni Avdija led the way in 2025-26, averaging 24.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists over 66 games. Shaedon Sharpe put up 20.8 points a game in 50 games before this year's injury. Ja Morant averaged 19.5 points and 8.1 assists in a 20-game sample, and Jrue Holiday added 16.3 points and 6.1 assists across 53 games. Toumani Camara was the iron man of the group, playing all 82 games and shooting 37.0 percent from three. Donovan Clingan anchored the middle with 12.1 points and 11.6 rebounds over 77 games, while Scoot Henderson scored 14.2 points a game in 30 outings. Vít Krejčí (39.0 percent) and Micah Potter (42.3 percent) were the sharpest shooters from deep.

Shaedon Sharpe is out with a right knee and leg injury, with an estimated return date of March 1, 2027, meaning he's expected to miss most of the season. Damian Lillard is day-to-day with a left Achilles and leg issue, with an estimated return of October 1, 2026. Ja Morant is also day-to-day, dealing with a left elbow and arm injury, also with an estimated return of October 1, 2026. That puts two of Portland's veteran guards on track to be available for the start of the year, while Sharpe's absence is the significant long-term loss for a player who averaged 20.8 points a game last season.
