Thunder Open Camp at 0-0, Chasing Last Season's 64-18 Mark With a Banged-Up Roster

Five players are day-to-day heading into camp, all with an estimated return of October 1, and the roster has lost three rotation pieces since last season. The Thunder open preseason October 6 against New Orleans and start the regular season October 20 at San Antonio.
Where Things Stand
The Thunder are 0-0. The 2026-27 season has not started, so there is no seed and no streak to report yet. Oklahoma City comes off a 64-18 season, with a net rating of 11.1, an offensive rating of 117.6 and a defensive rating of 106.5. The team played at a pace of 100.4 and scored 119.0 points per game last season, shooting 56.1 effective field goal percentage and 59.9 true shooting. None of that carries over to this year's ledger, but it is the baseline the roster is working from as camp opens. The regular season opener is set for October 20 at San Antonio, and that is when the new record starts.
The Roster Heading Into Camp
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (#2), Chet Holmgren (#7) and Jalen Williams (#8) headline the roster this season. Isaiah Hartenstein (#55) is back at center, alongside Cason Wallace (#22), Ajay Mitchell (#25), Alex Caruso (#9), Jared McCain (#3), Jaylin Williams (#6), Kenrich Williams (#34), Nikola Topić (#44), Brooks Barnhizer (#23) and Otega Oweh (#13). The rookie class includes Aday Mara (#15), Bennett Stirtz (#14), Thomas Sorber (#12) and Josh Dix. That is a mix of the core that won 64 games last season, plus incoming young pieces getting their first look at NBA camp. Every name on this list is on the roster now, whatever jersey they wore a year ago.
Who's Gone Since Last Season
Three players who were part of last season's rotation are no longer with the Thunder. Luguentz Dort has moved on to the Atlanta Hawks. Aaron Wiggins is also now with the Hawks. Isaiah Joe has joined the Detroit Pistons. All three departures thin out OKC's wing and guard depth from a season ago, and none of the three appear anywhere in this year's roster. Fans tracking last season's rotation should note those names are gone, not injured and not returning.
Last Season by the Numbers
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way last season: 68 games, 33.2 minutes, 31.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 38.6 percent from three, plus-11.6. Chet Holmgren played 69 games, averaging 17.1 points and 8.9 rebounds. Jalen Williams appeared in 33 games, posting 17.1 points and 5.5 assists. Cason Wallace played all 77 games he was available for, averaging 8.6 points. Ajay Mitchell put up 13.6 points over 57 games. Isaiah Hartenstein grabbed 9.4 rebounds a night across 47 games. Jaylin Williams, Alex Caruso, Jared McCain and Nikola Topić rounded out the production, with Topić averaging 4.4 assists in just 10 games played. These are all 2025-26 numbers, not this season's.
