The Roster Now
Anthony Edwards, 25, headlines the roster at guard, backed by Ayo Dosunmu, Bones Hyland, LaMelo Ball and Zyon Pullin. Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert remain the frontcourt anchors, with Trey Lyles, Cody Williams, Terrence Shannon Jr, Enrique Freeman and Jonathan Kuminga rounding out the wing and forward spots. The youth movement includes rookies Isaiah Evans, Trey Kaufman-Renn, Rocco Zikarsky and Joan Beringer, all first- or second-year players. Donte DiVincenzo is on the roster but sidelined by injury. In all, 18 players are currently listed for Minnesota as the team builds toward opening night at Target Center's road trip to Miami.
Who's Gone
Four rotation players from last season are no longer with the Timberwolves. Julius Randle has moved on to the Nets, Naz Reid is now with the Hornets, Kyle Anderson has joined the Raptors, and Mike Conley is with the Celtics. That's a significant chunk of frontcourt depth and ball-handling experience out the door, which is part of why the front office brought in LaMelo Ball and Jonathan Kuminga to fill out the roster. How those departures get replaced in the rotation will be one of the storylines to watch once real games start counting in the standings.
