Kawhi Leonard, Darius Garland and Bennedict Mathurin headline a roster that also lost John Collins to the Pistons and Bogdan Bogdanović to the Rockets over the offseason. Jordan Miller is out with a shoulder injury and has an estimated return date of March 1, 2027, which points to a long absence covering most of the season. Miller appeared in 60 games last season, so his absence removes a rotation piece who logged real minutes a year ago. Beal's timeline is the one to watch as camp approaches.

Rui Hachimura shot 44.3 percent from three while scoring 11.5 points a night across 68 games. Kris Dunn played all 82 games, averaging 7.3 points and 3.6 assists. Bradley Beal appeared in just 6 games last season, averaging 8.2 points in 20.2 minutes.

The rumor mill has been active. A Pacific Division notes roundup from Kelly Iko on Sept. 6 mentioned the Clippers alongside Simmons, Buss and D. Green. The same day, an Atlantic Division notes piece from Brian Robb touched on the Clippers' draft picks in connection with the Celtics, Sixers, Brown and Randle. Also on Sept. 6, a report surfaced with Chris Paul calling his experience with the Clippers "disrespectful."
