Memphis is 6-0 with 22 contracts totaling $161.1M, under the $165.0M cap. The money is clean, but second-rounders owed out and swaps in 2029 and 2030 make aggressive trading harder.

How close are the Grizzlies to the cap and the tax?

Memphis is under the cap. Payroll is $161.1M against a $165.0M line. The luxury tax starts at $200.4M, the first apron at $209.0M and the second apron at $221.7M. The club is nowhere near any of them, so the tax and apron rules are not a worry this season. The only line that matters is the cap itself.

Who is carrying the big contracts?

Jerami Grant leads at $34.2M. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is next at $17.7M, and that is a player option. Isaiah Stewart makes $15.0M, rookie Cameron Boozer $11.8M and Ty Jerome $9.2M. Grant's top-heavy deal is the only one that stands out. Stewart has scored 24 and 18 in two of the last three games, so his money looks fine.

What does next season's sheet look like?

Twelve players carry a 2027-28 figure. Grant is at $36.4M as a player option, Stewart at $15.0M as a team option, Boozer at $12.4M and Jerome at $9.7M as a player option. Jaylen Wells holds a $2.5M team option. Taylor Hendricks, Jordan Hawkins, D'Angelo Russell and Walter Clayton have no 2027-28 number listed. Options will decide how much space opens up.

Which draft picks does Memphis control?

Memphis keeps its own firsts in 2027 and 2028 and holds swaps in 2029 and 2030. The second-rounders are mostly gone. The 2027 pick is owed to Charlotte, the 2028 and 2029 picks to Brooklyn, and the 2030 pick is protected to Minnesota. Memphis has firsts to offer in the next two drafts, but little else.

Is there real flexibility to make a trade?

Some, but it is limited. Memphis can absorb salary below the cap, and the tax is far off. The thin pick inventory is the constraint. Jake Fischer named the Grizzlies among teams exploring deals, but no Memphis player has been named. At 6-0, with Boozer posting a triple-double, there is no pressure to force anything.

The verdictThe books are healthy: under the cap, far from the tax, with options that can open space. The picks are the real limit, so any move will cost firsts.
What is the Grizzlies' payroll this season?

Memphis carries $161.1M across 22 contracts, under the $165.0M salary cap. The luxury tax line is $200.4M.

Who is the highest-paid Grizzly?

Jerami Grant, at $34.2M this season. He has a $36.4M player option for 2027-28.
