The loudest item this week belongs to Dallas: Hoops Rumors and RealGM both reported that the Mavericks picked up a $17.4M fourth-year option on Zaccharie Risacher, whom Atlanta drafted first overall in 2024. Atlanta's own business, the waivers of Cameron Corhen and Kobe Johnson, is confirmed and closed, so a 2-3 team on a three-game skid takes the roster it has into tonight's game against Cleveland.

45: Risacher report score

Risacher Is a Dallas Story

The Risacher item scores 45 and is still marked open, but RealGM attached a figure to it the same day: a $17.4M fourth-year option exercised by the Mavericks. It is the most credible report on the list, and it is not an Atlanta move. The Hawks took Risacher first overall in 2024, their first top pick since 1975, which is why the name still pulls clicks here. Soaring Down South argued that Dallas gave him a commitment Atlanta may not have. That is their take. None of it changes a Hawks rotation that just gave up 129 to Miami.

Noise and Closed Files

The October 20 report that Wolves second-rounder Trey Kaufman-Renn will play for Kansas scores 34 and doesn't touch Atlanta. The Pelicans' waivers of Kobe Bufkin and Jalon Moore are confirmed, which matters here only as context for the October 31 trip to New Orleans. The Hawks' own item is settled: Cameron Corhen and Kobe Johnson were waived, reported October 17, and both were off the roster by October 18. Nothing is pending.

What the Cap Sheet Allows

Atlanta carries $198.5M, over the cap and under the tax, with the line sitting at $200.4M. That leaves almost no room to take on salary. Jalen Johnson at $30.0M, Dyson Daniels at $25.0M and CJ McCollum at $21.0M are the big numbers, and Luguentz Dort's $18.2M is a team option. The 2027 first is owed to San Antonio, which thins out the draft capital Atlanta could offer. No report links the Hawks to a trade, so the answer to three straight losses has to come from this roster, starting with a Cavaliers team that is 3-1 and has won three in a row.

Did the Hawks make any roster moves this week?

No new Atlanta transaction has been reported this week. The latest confirmed Hawks move is the waiving of Cameron Corhen and Kobe Johnson, reported October 17.

What happened with Zaccharie Risacher's contract option?

Hoops Rumors and RealGM reported on October 28 that the Mavericks exercised Risacher's $17.4M fourth-year option. It was a Dallas decision, not a Hawks move, even though Atlanta drafted him first overall in 2024.
