Obi Toppin was upgraded from out on October 31, and both he and Ivica Zubac carry a November 1 estimated return for the Brooklyn game. Indiana is 2-4, 11th in the conference, and has lost three straight.

Help may be coming
Toppin's back put him on the out list on October 30. A day later he was upgraded and is now a day-to-day case, with November 1 as his estimated return. Zubac's left ankle has the same date. T.J. McConnell's right hamstring points to November 2, Tyrese Haliburton to November 13. Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files reported Indiana had only 11 players in Miami, three of them two-ways, and all logged double-digit minutes. Toppin's 15.2 points a game would ease that load.
The ball stopped moving
For twelve minutes this was Carlisle basketball: 42 points in the first quarter, and Agness counted 12 assists on 15 field goals. Then it stuck. Indiana led 54-46 before Miami ran off 16 straight, and Tony East of Forbes noted many possessions ran into the shot clock. The Dustin Dopirak count in the Indianapolis Star had the Heat ahead 36-22 in the paint at the half. Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 31 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists. Jackson's 24 were the steady thread, and Andrew Nembhard added 22 with 9 assists.
Brooklyn, then Atlanta
The Nets come in 0-5 with a minus-10.5 net rating, missing Egor Demin and Tyler Bilodeau. Julius Randle scores 21.0 a game and Michael Porter Jr. 20.8. The Hawks follow on November 2, the second of back-to-back nights, and at 3-3 they hold sixth, one game ahead of Indiana. The question for this group: can the extra pass survive 48 minutes, not just one quarter?
