The role. Ighodaro is a 24-year-old forward with two years of experience. Last season he logged 22.1 minutes a game across all 82 appearances. He scored 6.5 points with 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists. The line is modest, and the minutes were built around that.

Shot diet. He made 65.3% of his field goals and posted a 63.6% true shooting mark on a 12.0% usage rate. He finished what others created. He attempted no threes, and he hit just 45.3% at the free throw line.

Two-way numbers. The advanced line holds up: a 114.8 offensive rating, a 109.7 defensive rating and a net of 5.1. That is 3.7 points better than the team's 1.4. His rebound percentage was 11.3% and his assist percentage 13.9%.

Health check. Ighodaro is listed with an oblique and torso issue, and the return target is today, Oct. 24. Arizona Sports wrote that the Suns feared a more serious back injury. Luke Kennard shares the same Oct. 24 target.

Minutes bump. When a teammate sits, his playing time and scoring climb well past his season numbers: 12 more minutes a night across the last three games. The sample is short. Mark Williams is listed out until Feb. 3, 2027, so the minutes at center stay open.

Contract math. The listed figures are $2.3M this season and a $2.5M team option for 2027-28. Hoops Rumors reported an agreement on a three-year, $29MM extension, and the Suns re-signed him this month. With the team payroll at $213.8M, efficient minutes matter.

The verdict. Golden State arrives on the second night of a back-to-back, with Butler, Porzingis, Podziemski and Moody all listed out. Ighodaro's job is simple: finish at this clip, rebound, defend, and never become a primary option. The free throws are the one number to fix.

On deck Phoenix hosts Golden State tonight on NBA TV, then visits Oklahoma City on Oct. 26 and hosts Denver in the Emirates NBA Cup on Oct. 30.
