Andrew Nembhard was moved from day-to-day to cleared on the injury report Wednesday evening, after two days listed with neck and back issues. The Pacers guard is available for Wednesday's home game against the 76ers.
What happened
Andrew Nembhard is cleared. The injury report moved the Pacers guard from day-to-day to cleared at 5:47 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 28. No injury detail or comment came with the change. He was listed day-to-day with a neck issue on Monday, Oct. 26. He was listed twice on Tuesday, Oct. 27, once for his neck and once for his back. This is his second clearance this month. He was listed day-to-day with an undisclosed issue on Oct. 13 and cleared on Oct. 16.
What it means for the Pacers
The update came about an hour before tip. The Pacers host the 76ers at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday on ESPN. Indiana is 2-2, the ninth seed, and lost its last game. Nembhard has played three games and averages 16.0 points, 5.7 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 31.9 minutes. The Pacers are 2-1 with him and 0-1 without him. When he sat, Tyrese Haliburton played 33.0 minutes and scored 21.8 points, and Quenton Jackson played 19.3 minutes. Both Haliburton, with a left hamstring issue, and T.J. McConnell, with a right hamstring issue, are listed as out on the injury report. That leaves Nembhard with a bigger role in the backcourt.
What to watch
The next injury report will show whether Nembhard stays off the list after three days of neck and back listings. Indiana's report is still long. Ivica Zubac, Ben Sheppard, Johnny Furphy, Haliburton and McConnell are out. Obi Toppin, with a left hand issue, and Aaron Nesmith, with a left hamstring issue, are day-to-day. The 76ers game is the first look at how many minutes Nembhard can take on with so many guards out.
