The Lakers sit at No. 1 in the standings at 2-0, and their injury list got shorter overnight. Three players came off the out list, each with an estimated return of Oct. 25, the day they visit Utah.

Doors Reopening
Jake LaRavia (right ankle), Cameron Carr (right oblique) and Adou Thiero (left knee) are now day-to-day. Day-to-day is not cleared, and an estimated return is not a promise. Collin Sexton, who played 16 minutes against the Clippers and finished a minus-9, no longer carries a designation. If all three are available, JJ Redick will have a deeper bench than he has had this week.
A Jazz Test
Utah is 1-1 under Will Hardy and won 22 games last season, allowing 120.8 points per 100 possessions. Jusuf Nurkic is out with a right foot problem, and Trey Alexander is day-to-day with a left knee. Lauri Markkanen averaged 26.7 points in 42 games last season. Then comes a short stretch: Trail Blazers at home on Oct. 27, then the Clippers on Oct. 28 and the Warriors on Oct. 30, both on the road.
Eleven Giveaways
The number to carry into Utah is 11, Doncic's turnovers in a 125-117 win. He shot 8-for-21 and still finished with 23 points, because Austin Reaves went 10-for-13 for 28 and Walker Kessler added 22 points, eight rebounds and six blocks. The Lakers trailed by as many as 11 and answered with a 12-0 run in the third quarter. The open question is whether the offense can stay this efficient on a night when its centerpiece gives the ball away that often.
When do the Lakers play next?
The Lakers visit the Utah Jazz on Oct. 25, then host the Trail Blazers on Oct. 27.
Will LaRavia, Carr and Thiero play against the Jazz?
All three are day-to-day with an estimated return of Oct. 25, so none is confirmed for the game.
