Spencer Jones was moved from day-to-day to out with a hamstring issue on the Sunday evening injury report. The Nuggets host the Warriors on Monday night, and the report lists Oct. 26 as his expected return date.
What happened
The Denver Nuggets forward Spencer Jones is listed as out with a hamstring issue in the leg. The injury report update came Sunday, Oct. 25, at 6:38 p.m. ET. He had been day-to-day before the change. Jones has appeared on the report with the same hamstring issue since Oct. 2, and his status has moved between day-to-day and out several times since Oct. 22. The report's comment reads: "Jones (hamstring) is out for Saturday's game against the Pelicans." The report gives an expected return of Oct. 26. Nothing further on the injury is announced.
What it means for the Nuggets
Denver plays the Warriors on Monday, Oct. 26, at 10:00 p.m. ET, with the game on Peacock and NBC Sports Network. The Nuggets are 1-1 and sit eighth, with one straight win. They have no games with Jones this season and are 1-1 without him. No season line for Jones is available. Without him, Jamal Murray (39.9 minutes, 24.0 points) and Nikola Jokic (39.5 minutes, 24.0 points) carry the heaviest loads. Christian Braun averages 36.5 minutes and Aaron Gordon 33.1. DeMar DeRozan plays 25.9 minutes, Trevon Brazile 23.3 and Alpha Diallo 22.2. Cameron Johnson gets 11.3 minutes. Johnson (ankle) and Diallo (wrist) are both day-to-day, and Julian Strawther (knee) is out.
What to watch
The next injury report will show whether Jones' status changes before Monday's game against the Warriors. The report lists Oct. 26 as his expected return, which is the date of that game, but his current status is out. Denver has not announced whether he plays. Also watch the day-to-day statuses of Johnson and Diallo, since both are part of the rotation without Jones. Strawther remains out with a left knee issue.
