Our count since Oct. 20 has six of eight newly listed Memphis players missing the next game, a 75 percent rate against 57 percent league-wide. With three straight losses behind them and the Raptors next, the Nov. 9 return dates for Stewart and Pippen deserve caution.

How often does day-to-day really mean out for Memphis?

Since Oct. 20, eight Grizzlies were newly listed day-to-day, and six of them missed the next game. That is 75 percent. League-wide, 97 of 171 players listed that way sat out their team's next game, 57 percent, rest days included. Eight is a small group, so read the gap as a lean, not a law. Stewart went day-to-day Nov. 4 and was ruled out the next day.

Who is missing right now, and what does it cost?

Stewart and Pippen are both out. Their average playing time adds up to 34 minutes of rotation work, 18.3 for Stewart and 16.0 for Pippen. Since opening night Memphis has lost 299 minutes to injury, which puts the club 25th on the most-hurt list of 30. The worst single day reached 61 minutes. This is a thinned bench, not a wrecked roster.

Can Memphis trust the Nov. 9 return dates?

Both players carry a Nov. 9 target, the game at the Raptors. Memphis's own history says to hold that loosely: three of every four day-to-day tags here turned into missed games. Meanwhile the Thunder loss showed what the gaps cost. Boozer played 31 minutes, shot 2 of 14 and finished minus-30, and the Grizzlies lost by 31.

Is a milestone coming for Jerome or Stewart?

Jerome sits at 2,494 career points, six short of 2,500. He is scoring 26.6 this season over eight games, so at that rate he clears it in his next outing. That is a projection. He had 21 against the Thunder. Stewart is 15 threes short of 250 and at his 1.1 this season would need about 14 games, and he is not playing now.

The verdictMemphis day-to-day tags have meant missed games three times out of four, so Nov. 9 is a hope for Stewart and Pippen, not a plan. The 6-3 record needs the healthy group to stop the slide first.
How many Grizzlies day-to-day listings have led to missed games this season?

Six of eight since Oct. 20, or 75 percent, against 57 percent across the league. It is a small sample.

When are Isaiah Stewart and Scotty Pippen Jr. expected back?

Both are projected back Nov. 9 at the Raptors, but both are listed out today and the date is only a target.
