Hawks coverage keeps coming back to three things: a frontcourt down two bodies, Aaron Wiggins' hot start and second-guessing over Zaccharie Risacher. The roster numbers back the frontcourt worry and the Wiggins buzz, and they give the trade chatter nothing to stand on.

A Frontcourt Running Short
Brad Rowland of Locked On Hawks has Mouhamed Gueye (left foot fracture) and Henri Veesaar (torn right ACL) out for New Orleans. Jock Landale is available after a nasal fracture. Rowland also reported that Zuby Ejiofor is back in the G League and listed as doubtful. That puts the middle on Onyeka Okongwu, and Soaring Down South's Ian Kearney argues the small-ball problem is already too big to ignore. The roster supports him. Gueye isn't expected back until Nov. 20 and Veesaar not until July 2027, so this is what November looks like. Zach Langley, also at Soaring Down South, credits Okongwu's jump on the glass, and ESPN logged his 29 points and 12 boards against Cleveland. Still, 6.7 rebounds a night over six games is solid. It does not fix a thin rotation by itself.
Wiggins Makes His Case
Antwane Willis of Soaring Down South calls Aaron Wiggins a strong candidate for a coveted award. The shooting gives him a case: 15.5 points in 26.0 minutes and 46.2 on threes, after he got past a left knee listing on Oct. 27. But six games is a sample, not a trophy. At the same outlet, Jack Simone wrote that CJ McCollum gave the Cavs win what it needed without being perfect. The 35-year-old is scoring 14.5 a night and hitting 38.7 from deep. His $21.0M deal is the third-largest on the books.
Risacher Noise, No Deal
Kearney's sharpest columns look backward and sideways. One argues that a Risacher stat leading the league should leave Atlanta regretting the move. The hard fact is narrower: Hoops Rumors reported on Oct. 28 that Dallas exercised his team option. Another column warns Atlanta against a trade blunder as the Pelicans come apart. New Orleans is 1-4, with Jordan Poole and Yves Missi out, but no report ties the Hawks to any Pelicans deal. Payroll is $198.5M, the tax line is $200.4M and the 2027 first belongs to San Antonio. A big swing would cost picks and money this team barely has.
Is Mouhamed Gueye playing against the Pelicans?
No. Locked On Hawks lists him out with a fractured left foot, and his target return is Nov. 20.
Are the Hawks trading for a Pelicans player?
No report links Atlanta to a Pelicans trade. The idea comes from a Soaring Down South opinion column, not a news report.
