Cameron Carr came off the injury list Tuesday, cleared after a right oblique injury moved him between out and day-to-day for a week. He rejoins a 3-0 team that hosts an unbeaten Portland tonight on NBC and Peacock, then plays at the Clippers tomorrow.

A Body Returns

Carr's clearance matters because the guard line is still short a man. Adou Thiero remains out with a left knee injury, with an estimated return of Oct. 28, the night of the Clippers game. Ziaire Williams has absorbed 28.3 minutes a night and Matisse Thybulle 24.4. Lakers Nation wrote that Collin Sexton sees a chance to supply steady energy off the bench, a role that grows when JJ Redick has to stretch bodies across consecutive nights.

Unbeaten Meets Unbeaten

Portland is 2-0 under Micah Nori, with Deni Avdija and Damian Lillard each scoring 22.0 a game and Toumani Camara at 18.5. The Blazers come in thin: Shaedon Sharpe and Chris Youngblood are out, while Scoot Henderson and Branden Carlson are day-to-day. They also arrive on three days of rest against one for Los Angeles. The number to watch is Austin Reaves at 61.5 percent from three, the shot that has turned his 26.7 points a night into a second headline act beside Doncic. The Lakers slid from second to fourth without losing a game, a reminder that early standings move without them.

Ownership in the Wings

Off the floor, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne published an inside account of the Lakers sale and the uncertainty still around it. Mark Walter agreed Aug. 12 to sell his controlling interest to Bob Iger and Joshua Kushner for $12.5 billion. The payroll those new owners inherit sits at $201.3 million, above the $200.4 million tax line. The open question is closer to the court: can a rotation leaning on Doncic for 35.1 minutes survive Portland, the Clippers and a Cup trip to Golden State on Oct. 30 inside four days?

When do the Lakers play the Trail Blazers?

The Lakers host Portland on Oct. 27 on NBC and Peacock. They play at the Clippers the next night.

Is Cameron Carr still injured?

No. Carr was cleared on Oct. 27 after being listed out with a right oblique injury as recently as Oct. 24.
