Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard was cleared on the Tuesday evening injury report, one day after he was listed out with a neck and head issue. The Pacers visit the Grizzlies on Wednesday night with a depleted roster.
What happened
Nembhard moved from Day-To-Day to Cleared on the injury report posted at 6:42 PM ET on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The report gave no detail and no comment with the change. Earlier that day he had been upgraded from Out to Day-To-Day with a neck and head issue. He was listed Out on Monday, Nov. 2. The same issue has cycled through the report for more than a week. He was listed Day-To-Day on Oct. 27, cleared Oct. 28, Day-To-Day again Oct. 29 and cleared Oct. 30. No return date was needed this time, since he is no longer listed.
What it means for the Pacers
Indiana plays at Memphis on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 8:00 PM ET. The Pacers are 2-6, 12th in the standings, and have lost five straight. They are 2-4 with Nembhard and 0-2 without him. Last season he played 3 games and averaged 31.9 minutes, 16.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists. Without him, Tyrese Haliburton (33.0 minutes) and Pascal Siakam (32.2) carried the heaviest loads, followed by Jarace Walker (24.6). Haliburton is out with a left hamstring issue. Obi Toppin and Ivica Zubac are also out, and Kelly Oubre Jr. is day-to-day with a left knee issue.
What to watch
The Pacers' next injury report will show whether Nembhard carries any new listing into the Grizzlies game or the days after it. His neck and head issue has returned to the report twice since Oct. 27, so another listing would not be a surprise. No minutes limit has been announced. Watch Oubre's status, since he is the other rotation player listed day-to-day. Haliburton, Toppin, Zubac, Ben Sheppard, Johnny Furphy and T.J. McConnell are all listed out, with no return dates announced.
Is Andrew Nembhard playing at the Grizzlies?
He was cleared on the Tuesday evening injury report and carries no listing into Wednesday's 8:00 PM ET game at Memphis. No minutes restriction has been announced.
When will Andrew Nembhard be back?
He was cleared on Nov. 3, so no return date applies. The injury report listed him as Out on Nov. 2 and Day-To-Day with a neck and head issue earlier on Nov. 3.
