Winning Around the Misses

Edwards finished with 15 points, four steals and a plus-19 rating in 33 minutes, despite the 5-of-23 line. Dosunmu ran the second unit with 10 assists and no turnovers. Terrence Shannon Jr. added 13 points in 22 minutes. The game had no lead changes. Minnesota used runs of 9-0, 8-0, 10-0 and 12-0 to reach a 26-point margin.

The Glass Again

Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic wrote that the Wolves were plus-16 on the boards against a big, physical Magic team, as they were against Miami. Toronto is a different test. The Raptors were 46-36 last season, and Kawhi Leonard averaged 27.9 points in 65 games. Jakob Poeltl grabbed 7.0 rebounds a night in 46 games. Nate Bittle is out for Toronto with a foot injury.

Sunday, Then Cleveland

The Raptors come to Minneapolis on October 25. The Wolves play at Cleveland the next day, then host Golden State on October 28. Donte DiVincenzo remains out, with an estimated return of April 2, 2027. The number that matters is 26, the size of Friday's biggest lead, built while the best scorer missed most of his shots. The open question is how long that cushion holds if Edwards keeps shooting like this.

When do the Timberwolves play the Raptors?

Minnesota hosts Toronto on October 25, with the game on NBA TV. Both teams are 2-0.

Who is injured for the Timberwolves?

Donte DiVincenzo is out with an Achilles injury, with an estimated return of April 2, 2027.
