Kings center Dylan Cardwell was cleared on the Tuesday night injury report after being listed as out. Sacramento hosts the Lakers on Wednesday at 10:00 PM ET with a 1-6 record.
What happened
Dylan Cardwell, a 24-year-old center, moved from out to cleared on the Kings' injury report at 7:58 PM ET on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The report gave no injury detail and no comment. It did not announce an expected return date. He had been out since Oct. 13 with a left calf issue, listed as calf and leg. Before that, he was day-to-day on Oct. 12 with the same calf and leg designation. On Oct. 10 he was day-to-day for rest. An earlier entry on Nov. 3 also showed him out before the clearance.
What it means for the Kings
The Kings play the Lakers on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 10:00 PM ET. They are 1-6, sit 14th in the standings and come in on a one-game winning streak. Cardwell has not played for Sacramento this season, so the team is 0-0 with him and 1-6 without him. No season line is available for him. Without him, Darius Acuff Jr. leads the rotation at 36.5 minutes and 26.1 points per game. Domantas Sabonis averages 36.1 minutes and 15.0 points. Zach LaVine plays 33.2 minutes. De'Andre Hunter plays 30.2, Precious Achiuwa 28.6 and Keegan Murray 27.2. Emanuel Sharp and Jonathan Mogbo split the rest at about 18 minutes each.
What to watch
Watch Wednesday's updated report for Cardwell's game-day status, since a clearance does not set his minutes. No return timeline or minutes limit has been announced. The Kings also have injuries elsewhere. Achiuwa is day-to-day with a left ankle issue. Murray is out with an ankle issue. Ben Simmons is out with a right Achilles issue. Maxime Raynaud is out with a right knee issue. The Lakers are the next game on the schedule.
