Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen is listed day-to-day with a right knee injury after leaving Wednesday's game at the Thunder in the first quarter. No return date is announced, and Cleveland has played every game this season with him.
What happened
Jarrett Allen is listed day-to-day with a right knee injury on the injury report updated Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 8:58 p.m. ET. The Cavaliers center went to the locker room in the first quarter of Wednesday's game against the Thunder with an apparent right knee injury, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. The report lists the injury as knee, leg, right. It shows no previous status for this entry. Allen was also listed day-to-day with a right knee issue on Oct. 21 and was cleared the next day, Oct. 22. No diagnosis has been announced.
What it means for the Cavaliers
Cleveland is 4-3, the fourth seed, and has lost its last game. Allen has played in all seven games, so the Cavaliers have no record without him this season. He averages 27.9 minutes, 15.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists. If he misses time, the minutes shift to a rotation led by James Harden (33.5 minutes), Donovan Mitchell (33.4) and Evan Mobley (32.8). Meleek Thomas (22.1) and Mario Hezonja (19.1) are also in that group. Peyton Watson and Jaylon Tyson are both listed as out, which thins the options.
What to watch
The next injury report will show whether Allen is cleared, stays day-to-day or moves to out. No return date has been announced, and the report gives no timeline for the knee. Watch his status before the Cavaliers' next game. Also watch Watson (hamstring) and Tyson (ankle), who are both out. If Allen sits, Mobley and Hezonja would see more of the frontcourt minutes.
