Kyrie Irving was cleared on the Tuesday injury report after being listed day-to-day with a left knee issue. The Mavericks get their guard back for Wednesday's game at San Antonio.

What happened

Kyrie Irving was moved to Cleared on the injury report at 5:27 PM ET on Tuesday, Nov. 3. His previous status was Day-To-Day. The report gave no detail and no comment with the change. It has been a short and choppy stretch for the 34-year-old guard. He was listed Out with a left knee issue on Monday, Nov. 2, and moved back to Day-To-Day earlier Tuesday before the clearance. He was also listed Day-To-Day with a knee and leg issue on Oct. 27 and cleared the next day. An earlier Day-To-Day listing ended with a clearance on Oct. 25.

What it means for the Mavericks

Dallas visits the Spurs on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 9:30 PM ET on ESPN. The Mavericks are 4-3, the 9th seed, and have lost their last game. Irving has played three games and averages 27.1 minutes, 19.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists. The team is 4-1 with him and 0-2 without him. In those games without him, P.J. Washington played 34.1 minutes and Cooper Flagg 33.5, with Flagg scoring 25.2 points. Zaccharie Risacher, Naji Marshall, Daniel Gafford, Max Christie, Marcus Sasser and Caleb Martin filled out the rotation. Christie is Day-To-Day with a right hip issue.

What to watch

The next injury report will show whether Irving's status holds before the Spurs game. No return date applies now that he is cleared, and the report lists no restriction. His recent history is worth tracking, since his left knee issue has moved between Day-To-Day, Out and Cleared several times in the past two weeks. Dallas also has Tarik Biberovic, Dereck Lively II, Sergio de Larrea and Santi Aldama listed Out. Christie's hip status is the other open question for the rotation.

Is Kyrie Irving playing at the Spurs?

He was cleared on the injury report at 5:27 PM ET on Tuesday, Nov. 3, ahead of Wednesday's 9:30 PM ET game at San Antonio. The report lists no restriction. The next report is the one to check.

When will Kyrie Irving be back?

He has been cleared, so he is listed as available. A return date was not announced and none was attached to the clearance.
