Gui Santos has been cleared on the injury report after two days listed as day-to-day with a left knee issue. The Warriors forward is set to be available Wednesday at Minnesota, where Golden State will again be without Kristaps Porzingis, Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody.
What happened
Gui Santos was cleared on the injury report posted Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 1:37 a.m. ET. The 24-year-old forward had been listed as day-to-day since Sunday, Oct. 25, when the report cited his left knee. No detail or comment came with the clearance, and no restriction has been announced. This is the third time this fall he has gone from day-to-day to cleared. He was cleared on Oct. 10 after a rest designation. He was cleared again on Oct. 16, the same day the report listed him with a left knee issue.
What it means for the Warriors
Golden State plays at Minnesota on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. ET. The Warriors are 1-3, the 12th seed, and they won their last game. Santos has played in all four games, averaging 9.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.9 minutes. The Warriors have not played a game without him. Having him matters more with Kristaps Porzingis (illness), Jimmy Butler III (right knee) and Moses Moody (left knee) all out. Yaxel Lendeborg leads the rotation at 33.4 minutes and 21.8 points. Brandin Podziemski plays 32.8 minutes, and Stephen Curry scores 23.7 points in 25.9 minutes. Draymond Green, De'Anthony Melton, Georges Niang and Al Horford fill out the rotation.
What to watch
The next injury report before Wednesday's game will show whether Santos stays clear. Watch his minutes at Minnesota, since the report has listed his left knee twice in October. With Porzingis, Butler and Moody out, the Warriors need him available as they try to climb from 1-3. No return dates have been announced for the three players still out.
Is Gui Santos playing at Timberwolves on Wed, Oct 28?
He was cleared on the Oct. 27 injury report, so he is set to be available for Wednesday's 8 p.m. ET game at Minnesota unless his status changes on a later report. No restriction has been announced.
When will Gui Santos be back?
He is already back. The injury report cleared him on Oct. 27 after he had been listed as day-to-day with a left knee issue since Oct. 25.
