Curry's preseason minutes were a slow build. He played 13.0 minutes in the October 4 loss to the Clippers and scored 10 points. On October 6 against the Lakers he put up 16 points and 5 assists in 14.3 minutes in a win. He rested on October 7 against Portland. After being cleared on October 10, he played 14.3 minutes against Sacramento and scored 8 points in a win. Against the Lakers on October 13 he went for 11 points in 22.6 minutes. The biggest workload came October 16 against Portland: 20 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists in 26.1 minutes with a plus-minus of 17.0 in a win. That last game looked like a regular-season rotation before the ankle flare-up two days later.

Curry's final stretch last season was uneven. On April 5 he scored 29 points with 4 assists in 26.1 minutes against Houston, but the Warriors lost. He had 17 points and 5 rebounds in a win over Sacramento on April 7. Two days later, on April 10, he had 11 points and 5 assists in another loss to the Kings. The last game, April 12 against the Clippers, was a 24-point, 6-rebound effort in a loss. Three of those final four games were losses despite Curry scoring well in most of them. He played between 25.0 and 28.6 minutes in each, in line with his 30.9 season average. The Warriors open this season against the Lakers, a team Curry faced twice in the preseason.

Curry wears number 30 and plays guard for Golden State. He is listed at 6-2 and 205 pounds, and he came to the league out of Davidson. He is 38 years old and this is his 17th season. He appears on the league's list of the top 50 highest-paid players for 2026-27, published October 8. Recent reporting has focused on his health. He was included in Pacific Notes on October 19 and in a league-wide injury roundup on October 20 that covered the Warriors alongside the Sixers, Cavs, Nets and Raptors. None of that reporting suggests anything beyond the day-to-day ankle designation already on the injury report. His age and the 43 games played last season make every minor injury a story.
