Joel Embiid came off the injury report at 7:09 PM ET Monday, moving from Day-To-Day to Cleared. The 76ers get their center for the 7:30 PM tip against the Bulls.
What happened
Joel Embiid was upgraded from Day-To-Day to Cleared on the official injury report at 7:09 PM ET on Monday, Nov. 2. The report gave no detail and no comment with the change, and no return date was announced because none was needed. He had been listed Day-To-Day on Sunday with a right foot and leg issue, after being listed Out on Saturday for the same problem. Before that, he was Day-To-Day on Saturday for rest. Earlier, he was listed with a right heel and leg issue on Oct. 25 and 26, and he was cleared on Oct. 27.
What it means for the 76ers
Philadelphia faces the Bulls at 7:30 PM ET on Monday. The 76ers are 6-1, hold the first seed and have won three straight. Embiid, 32, averages 19.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 35.2 minutes over five games. The team is 5-0 with him and 1-1 without him. In games he missed, Tyrese Maxey played 37.6 minutes and scored 29.6 points. Jaylen Brown played 36.6 minutes, LeBron James 33.5 and VJ Edgecombe 33.3. Dean Wade, Anfernee Simons, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Adem Bona filled the rest of the rotation. Bona averaged 14.1 minutes in those games.
What to watch
Embiid has moved between Out, Day-To-Day and Cleared several times in the past two weeks, so the next injury report matters. Any change to his foot and leg status would show up there. No return date is needed now, since he is cleared. Ariel Hukporti (right Achilles and leg) and Dominick Barlow (back and torso) remain Out. The Bulls game is the first test of how Embiid's minutes look after the Day-To-Day label on Sunday.
Is Joel Embiid playing vs the Bulls?
He is cleared. The 76ers removed him from the injury report at 7:09 PM ET on Monday, Nov. 2, ahead of the 7:30 PM ET game against the Bulls. He was Day-To-Day before that.
When will Joel Embiid be back?
No return date is needed because he is cleared. He was listed Day-To-Day on Sunday, Nov. 1, with a right foot and leg issue. The next injury report will show whether his status changes.
