Guard Otega Oweh has moved from out to cleared on the official injury report after missing time with a right Achilles injury. He has not played this season, and a 4-0 team now gets him back.

What happened

Otega Oweh, a 23-year-old guard, was listed as cleared on the official injury report at 11:57 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 28. His previous status was out. He was first listed day-to-day on Oct. 13 with a right lower leg issue. On Oct. 14 the listing changed to out with a right Achilles injury, and it stayed that way until Wednesday. The report gave no further detail and no comment on the clearance. It was his second clearance of the fall. He was day-to-day with a left lower leg issue on Sept. 6 and was cleared on Oct. 5.

What it means for his team

The team is 4-0, holds the second seed and has won four straight, all without Oweh. The clearance was posted after the scheduled 9:30 p.m. ET tip at the Mavericks on Wednesday, which aired on ESPN. Oweh has no season line yet because he has not played. In the backcourt without him, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has averaged 34.3 minutes and 27.3 points. Ajay Mitchell has averaged 24.8 minutes and 16.0 points, and Jared McCain 22.7 minutes and 11.3 points. Those minutes could open up further. Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso, all regulars in the rotation, are listed out on the same report.

What to watch

The next step is whether Oweh plays his first game of the season and how many minutes he gets. The next injury report will show whether his status holds. The team's injury list is still long. Nikola Topic (back), Jalen Williams (left leg), Thomas Sorber (knee), Cason Wallace (left shoulder), Alex Caruso (right ankle) and Chet Holmgren (right knee) are all listed out. No return timeline has been announced for any of them. The next game after Dallas has not been announced.

Is Otega Oweh playing the next game?

He is cleared on the official injury report as of 11:57 p.m. ET on Oct. 28. That came after the scheduled tip at the Mavericks. Whether he plays in the next game and how many minutes he gets have not been announced.

When will Otega Oweh be back?

He is cleared, so his right Achilles injury no longer keeps him out. He has not played yet this season. The date of his first appearance has not been announced.
