Orlando Magic guard Anthony Black is out Monday night against the Wizards for rest, according to the official injury report. The Magic are 0-2 without him this season and also list Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs as out.

What happened

Anthony Black was listed out on the official injury report at 12:19 p.m. ET Monday. The reason is given as Rest · Other. No previous status appears on this entry. He had no designation going into the day after being cleared from Day-To-Day on Oct. 28, when he had been listed for a personal matter. Earlier in October he dealt with a right ankle issue and moved between Out and Day-To-Day. The report comment notes that Black closed Sunday's 108-97 loss to Boston with 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in 33 minutes. The report gives an expected return date of Nov. 5.

What it means for the Magic

Orlando hosts the Wizards at 7:30 p.m. ET Monday. The Magic are 2-4, ninth in the standings, and have lost one straight. Black has played four games and is averaging 16.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 27.9 minutes. The Magic are 2-2 with him and 0-2 without him. In those two games, Franz Wagner (35.5 minutes), Desmond Bane (34.5) and Paolo Banchero (33.8) carried the heaviest loads. Banchero and Suggs are both listed out Monday, though, so the minutes will have to be spread differently. Tristan da Silva (28.9 minutes), Jase Richardson (19.9) and Jevon Carter (17.6) are the other rotation options in the box scores.

What to watch

The report lists Nov. 5 as Black's expected return, which is Thursday. The next injury report will show whether that date holds. Orlando has not announced a timeline for Banchero, Suggs, Noah Penda, Jonathan Isaac or Izaiyah Nelson, who are all listed out. The Magic's games after Monday's matchup with Washington will show how the rotation looks without several of its top players. A win would end the one-game losing streak.
