Jalen Green's Minutes Jump 13 a Night for the Suns
With a teammate out, Green is playing more and scoring more, and the sample is still short.
Jalen Green is averaging 13 more minutes a night than usual with a teammate out, over his last three games in the 2025-26 season, through April 27, 2026.
He played 39.8 minutes a night over that stretch. His season average is 27.2 minutes across 36 games this season. He also scored more. He averaged 23.3 points a game over the last three games, up from 18.2 for the season.
The jump matters because more minutes usually mean a bigger role. A player logging 39.8 minutes a night is carrying a starter-plus workload, not a bench role. Scoring rose alongside the minutes, which suggests Green used the extra time to shoot and create, not just to stand on the floor longer.
Three games is a short sample. For the higher minutes to hold, the teammate who is out would need to stay out, and the Suns would need to keep leaning on Green at that workload once the rotation is back to full strength. If the teammate returns and Green's minutes fall back toward 27.2, the last three games will read as a short-term fill-in stretch rather than a real change in his role with the Suns.
