Hawks' Five-Man Group Posts a Plus-20.3 Net Rating
A lineup of C. McCollum, N. Alexander-Walker, O. Okongwu, J. Johnson and D. Daniels outscored opponents by 20.3 points per hundred possessions last season.
Plus-20.3. That is the net rating the Atlanta Hawks posted last season with C. McCollum, N. Alexander-Walker, O. Okongwu, J. Johnson and D. Daniels on the floor together. The five players shared the court for 391 minutes across 30 games in 2025-26. A net rating of plus-20.3 means this group outscored opponents by 20.3 points per hundred possessions whenever all five were in the game at once.
The offense and defense both drove that gap. With this lineup on the floor, the Hawks scored at a 123.1 offensive rating. On defense, the same five held opponents to a 102.8 rating. The difference between those two figures, 20.3, is the net rating itself.
Three hundred ninety-one minutes across 30 games is enough playing time to take seriously, but it still covers only part of Atlanta's season. For the plus-20.3 mark to hold, the Hawks would need to keep sending these same five players onto the floor together, against a range of opponents similar to the one they have already faced. More minutes together would show whether the offensive and defensive numbers stay close to 123.1 and 102.8, or whether they move.
If Atlanta changes the rotation, whether because of injury, a trade, or a coaching decision, the plus-20.3 net rating no longer applies, because it describes only the minutes these five players spent on the floor together. The number is tied to this exact five-man group from the 2025-26 season, not to any one player in it.
