San Antonio waived Terry Taylor, Taelon Peter and Malik Williams on October 15, a day after beating Phoenix 123-103 to even the preseason series. The camp roster is narrowing toward its regular-season shape, with the opener against Oklahoma City five days out.

What actually changed overnight?
Terry Taylor signed a training-camp contract on October 14 and was among three players cut loose on October 15, along with Taelon Peter and Malik Williams. The departures trim San Antonio's camp group closer to its 15-man regular-season roster. Payroll sits at $198.3 million, over the salary cap and under the $200.4 million luxury-tax line.
Does the four-guard look stick?
San Antonio closed Tuesday's win with Fox, Castle, Vassell, Harper and Bryant on the floor, a small, guard-heavy group with no true center. Air Alamo argued this week that a four-guard starting five will have to shoot its way past a packed paint rather than rely on size. Bryant playing the five in stretches is one answer; whether it holds up in a real season is another.
Who's still out, and when do they return?
Kornet, Johnson and Champagnie are each day-to-day for rest, all targeting a return on October 16. Harris is day-to-day on his left calf, aiming for October 20. Quaintance is the long-term case: his right knee keeps him out into December, with a target return of December 1.
What's on the schedule now?
The Spurs host Sacramento on October 16 in their fourth preseason game, then open the regular season at home against Oklahoma City on October 20 on NBC and Peacock. San Antonio played three games in the seven days before Tuesday's win over Phoenix. The Thunder are the team the Spurs beat in last season's seven-game conference finals before losing to the Knicks in the Finals.
When do the Spurs play next?
San Antonio hosts Sacramento on October 16, then opens the regular season at home against Oklahoma City on October 20.
Who is out for the Spurs right now?
Jayden Quaintance is sidelined by his right knee until around December 1. Kornet, Johnson and Champagnie are day-to-day for rest, and Harris is day-to-day on his left calf.
