Milwaukee opened its doors at Fiserv Forum for an open scrimmage that doubled as an introduction for its newest faces, then sent a delegation to watch the Brewers host the Padres before an off day. The Bucks open their preseason slate Monday against the Timberwolves, still sitting at 0-0 ahead of the 2026-27 season.

This summer
Milwaukee remade its roster in June, sending Bobby Portis and Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami in a deal that brought back Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jakucionis and Jaquez Jr., then used draft picks on Brayden Burries and Nate Ament. Taylor Jenkins, hired in April after four seasons in Memphis, inherits that group for his first training camp.
Saturday at Fiserv Forum
Jenkins broke from a standard practice to run an open scrimmage, mixing drills with an all-star style skills competition. Ryan Rollins, the first returning player to address the crowd, was followed by newcomers Jakucionis and Jaquez Jr. AJ Green beat Rollins in the three-point contest, and Kam Jones, a former Marquette star, won the skills challenge.
Sunday
A Bucks delegation attended Game 1 of the Brewers' NLDS series against the Padres at American Family Field, with an off day built in before the preseason opener. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Jim Owczarski, covering both clubs, flagged the crossover interest around the city.
This week
General manager Jon Horst said Caris LeVert, acquired from Detroit over the summer, checked a couple of boxes for a club not built to contend for a conference title this season. LeVert joins Kuzma and Turner as veterans asked to steady a young group.
Monday, Oct. 5
The Bucks open their preseason slate against Minnesota at Fiserv Forum, the first of four exhibition games before Milwaukee visits Washington on Oct. 21. Jenkins has said he may use a different starting lineup in each preseason outing, treating the stretch as an extended look rather than a rehearsal for one unit.
