Baylor Scheierman came off Boston's injury list on October 17, the only change to a report that still lists nine players day-to-day — all pointing to the same return date as the regular-season opener. Friday's preseason finale, a 125-120 win at Philadelphia, was decided by reserves: the bench outscored the starters 77-48.

The injury report has one fewer name, not nine fewer.
Scheierman went from day-to-day to cleared on October 17. Hauser, Robinson, Queta, George, Pritchard, Conley, White, Tatum and Carter are still day-to-day, and each has an estimated return of October 20 — the same date Boston opens the real schedule at Detroit.
The bench did the scoring in the preseason finale.
Boston beat Philadelphia 125-120, and reserves outscored the starters 77-48. Hugo Gonzalez led everyone with 21 points on 6-for-10 shooting, 3-for-7 from three, in 20 minutes; MassLive named him its player of the game. Ron Harper Jr. added 16 points and a plus-18 in 35 minutes, but needed 20 shots and committed five turnovers to get there.
None of that preseason math follows the team to Detroit.
Four days separate Friday's finale from the opener at the Pistons on October 20 (NBC/Peacock), and nine regulars are projected back by then. Gonzalez's efficiency and Harper's plus-minus came against a 76ers group playing out its own preseason rotations — numbers worth remembering, not numbers worth banking on.
Is Baylor Scheierman healthy for the opener?
Yes. He was cleared from day-to-day on October 17, with the opener against Detroit four days away.
When do the Celtics' preseason wins start counting?
They don't. Boston's record is 0-0 until the regular-season opener at the Pistons on October 20.
