Beal, Sanders and Strus All Target the Same Return Date

Three day-to-day tags converge on October 10, the day the bench-built opener win gets its first road test.

The Clippers opened the preseason with a 104-101 win over the Warriors on October 4, a game the bench decided by outscoring the starters 53-46 and closing it out with Baba Miller, Blake Wesley, Cam Christie, Jalen Pickett and Keaton Wagler on the floor. Three day-to-day injuries — Bradley Beal, Kobe Sanders and Max Strus — all carry the same estimated return date, October 10, when the Clippers play at Toronto.

The bench carried the opening win.

Keaton Wagler scored 15 points in 30 bench minutes, going 8-for-9 at the line, and Cam Christie added 8 points with 8 rebounds in 28 minutes. Rui Hachimura led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 4-of-5 from three, and Darius Garland went 4-for-4 from the field for 15 points, but the reserves outscored the starters 53-46 in the final tally.

Lue closed the game with five bench players on the floor.

With Brandon Ingram and Jordan Miller already out, Tyronn Lue closed the fourth quarter with Baba Miller, Blake Wesley, Cam Christie, Jalen Pickett and Keaton Wagler on the court. The group survived 17 lead changes and seven ties, and after Golden State's Graham Ike tip-in put the Warriors ahead with 27 seconds left, Wagler's step-back three, which put him at 15 points on the night, gave the Clippers the lead for good.
