The Knicks trimmed three players from training camp on September 21, moving closer to a final roster. Every name still standing has to make its case before camp closes and preseason begins on October 5.

Camp Gets Smaller

Jack Kayil, Tyler Nickel and Kevin McCullar Jr. all left the Knicks on September 21. Three fewer names on the depth chart means fewer roster spots left to fight for, with camp winding toward real games.

Wiseman's Case

Posting and Toasting reported that James Wiseman may hold an edge in the scrap for the Knicks' final roster spots. Nothing is decided. The backup center job is still open.

Preseason On Deck

New York opens the preseason October 5 at the 76ers, then hosts the Wizards on October 8 and the Timberwolves on October 12 before a trip to Toronto on October 13. The regular season starts October 20 at home against Philadelphia, on NBC and Peacock.
