Training camp is settling roster questions on the floor, and the front office added one of its own: Pooh Jeter has joined as Director of Pro Scouting, Lakers Nation reported this week. Sandro Mamukelashvili, meanwhile, is working through what his job looks like, forward or center, as Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves get set to share the floor on a staggered clock.

A New Scouting Hire

Rob Pelinka's staff has added Pooh Jeter as Director of Pro Scouting, Lakers Nation reported this week. The hire follows assistant coach Bob Beyer's retirement, with Greg St. Jean moving to the front of the bench, also per Lakers Nation, keeping continuity on a staff already adjusting to camp.

Forward or Center

Sandro Mamukelashvili told Lakers Nation he sees a real difference between playing forward and playing center for this roster. He averaged 11.2 points and 4.9 rebounds in 21.9 minutes across 80 games last season, the kind of two-position value Redick will lean on behind Walker Kessler.

Staggered Minutes, Set Dates

Redick has told Lakers Nation he plans to stagger minutes between Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves once games start. The preseason runs October 5 at Sacramento, October 6 at Golden State, October 8 against Sacramento again and October 13 against Golden State, before the regular-season opener against the Warriors on October 21 on ESPN.

Who did the Lakers hire as Director of Pro Scouting?

Pooh Jeter, a hire Lakers Nation reported this week as part of Rob Pelinka's front-office moves.

Will Sandro Mamukelashvili play forward or center for the Lakers?

Both; he has discussed the difference between the two roles as camp sorts out the frontcourt rotation behind Walker Kessler.
