OG Anunoby landed on the injury report Monday night as Day-To-Day for rest and will not play Tuesday's preseason game at Toronto. The Knicks will turn to Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns to cover his minutes against the Raptors.
What happened
The Knicks listed OG Anunoby as Day-To-Day with a rest designation on Monday's 10:55 p.m. ET injury report, his first appearance on the report with no previous status attached. The 29-year-old forward-guard scored 15 points on 4-for-8 shooting, including 1-for-3 from three, with three steals, two rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes in Monday's 122-104 preseason loss to Minnesota. He will not play Tuesday against Toronto for rest purposes, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports.
What it means for the Knicks
New York plays at Toronto on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. Anunoby averaged 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 33.2 minutes last season, and his night off opens up more opportunities for Jalen Brunson (35.0 minutes, 26.0 points), Mikal Bridges (32.8 minutes, 14.4 points) and Karl-Anthony Towns (31.0 minutes, 20.1 points). Towns, Josh Hart and Brunson are also Day-To-Day for rest on the same report, so New York could be missing several regulars Tuesday. The Knicks are 0-0, with the 2026-27 regular season still to begin.
What to watch
Anunoby's expected return date is Oct. 15, according to the injury report. The next update on his status will come on the team's following injury report ahead of that game.
