Last season
Milwaukee finished 32-50, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2016-17, with the offense ranked 24th and the defense 26th while playing largely around an injured Antetokounmpo. Rivers resigned when the season ended, and later said publicly he is done coaching after joining NBC as an analyst.
This summer
On June 23, Milwaukee traded Antetokounmpo and Portis to Miami for Herro, Jaquez, Ware and Jakucionis, then used the tenth and thirteenth picks on Burries and Ament. Taylor Jenkins was hired April 30, returning to a franchise he once served on Budenholzer's staff.
September 17-23
The Bucks signed center Jake Stephens on September 17. Malique Lewis left the roster September 21, trimming Milwaukee's listed group to 21 players. Two days later, Joe Vardon reported the league is reviewing Trent's free agent contract, with no detail yet on its scope or timeline.
September 28
Nearly every player on a guaranteed deal spoke at media day. Porter, listed as questionable with a knee injury and an estimated October 1 return, said he felt fully recovered from two offseason surgeries. Trent declined to discuss the league's review of his contract. Kuzma called last year's locker-room finger-pointing a 'recipe for disaster' and said this group already has buy-in.
This week
Camp opens September 30 with the investigation still unresolved. The Bucks host the Timberwolves in their preseason opener October 5, then play at Oklahoma City and at Charlotte before hosting Chicago October 14, ahead of the October 21 regular-season opener at Washington.
Is the investigation into Trent's contract resolved?
No. Joe Vardon reported the league's review on September 23, and Trent declined to address it at media day on September 28; no findings have been made public.
When does Bucks training camp open?
Camp opens September 30, with the preseason opener set for October 5 against the Timberwolves.
