Pete Nance, Johni Broome, Marcus Garrett and Jake Stephens all left the roster on Oct. 18. Milwaukee opens Wednesday at Washington with Nate Ament and Jericho Sims both listed day-to-day.

Last season
Milwaukee finished 32-50 and missed the playoffs, with the offense ranked 24th and the defense 26th. Doc Rivers resigned afterward. Taylor Jenkins was hired April 30. He came up on Mike Budenholzer's Milwaukee staff in 2018-19 and built his name in Memphis.
This summer
On June 23 the Bucks sent Antetokounmpo and Portis to Miami for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Kasparas Jakucionis and Jaime Jaquez Jr. The same draft brought Brayden Burries at 10th and Nate Ament at 13th. Turner came over from Indiana on cap room created by stretching Damian Lillard's contract.
Oct. 16
The preseason ended with a 128-127 win at Indiana. Herro scored 25 and Burries added 14. The same day, the eight players carrying rest tags were cleared. Jericho Sims was newly listed as day-to-day with an undisclosed issue, and no detail has followed.
Oct. 18
Nance, Broome, Garrett and Stephens left the roster. Garrett had joined a day earlier, and Broome had signed Oct. 6. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Nance's time in Milwaukee may not be done. Eighteen players remain on the roster.
This week
Wednesday's opener at the Wizards is the date. Ament and Sims both carry an estimated return of Oct. 21. The home opener against the Bulls on Oct. 23 was moved to 3 p.m. CT, ESPN reported, to avoid a clash with Game 1 of the World Series. One number: payroll is $191.4M against a $200.4M tax line, a $9.0M gap. One question: Jake Fischer reported Oct. 15 that the Bucks, Lakers and Grizzlies are exploring trades, and the Hornets were added a day later. Does anything come of it?
