MassLive reported Jaylen Brown erupted in his preseason debut for Philadelphia, his first game action since the June trade that sent him there for Paul George and four draft picks. Boston opens its own preseason Thursday at Cleveland, then hosts the 76ers on Oct. 10 before the regular season begins Oct. 20 at Detroit.

Brown already looks like himself in Philadelphia red.

MassLive reported that Brown erupted in his preseason debut for the 76ers. Boston will not need long to judge it in person: the teams meet Oct. 10 in Boston, the Celtics' second preseason game, before the rematch Oct. 16 in Philadelphia, both on NBA TV.

Camp in Charleston keeps producing notes, not news.

Mitchell Robinson told MassLive he has already learned a new set play in camp, and Payton Pritchard praised a free-agent addition at camp, per the same outlet. No injuries are listed. The camp roster stands as it did after Max Shulga left and Hayden Gray and Gabe McGlothan arrived Sept. 23.

The George-for-Brown math still runs through two first-round picks.

Boston's return for Brown includes two first-round picks and two second-round picks, part of the deal that reshaped the wing rotation around Tatum and White. Boston carries $203.9M in salary against a $200.4M tax number, with Tatum's $58.5M and George's $54.1M atop the sheet.

Nothing played so far settles what George changes.

The record is 0-0. Boston opens the preseason Thursday at Cleveland, then plays three more exhibitions before the Oct. 20 opener at Detroit on NBC/Peacock. One preseason outing from Brown answers less about the trade than a full season will.

Did Jaylen Brown play well in his Sixers preseason debut?

MassLive reported Brown erupted in the outing. Boston gets its own look Oct. 10, when the 76ers visit for Boston's second preseason game on NBA TV.

When do the Celtics play their first preseason game?

Thursday, Oct. 8, at Cleveland, the first of four exhibitions before the Oct. 20 regular-season opener at Detroit on NBC/Peacock.
