Clippers Waive Loyer as Roster Edges Keep Moving Before Toronto

A camp cut, a closed rumor, and an injury list outnumbering available guards.

By the Clippers Nightly Desk · Wednesday, October 7

Fletcher Loyer left the Clippers on October 7, the same day Hoops Rumors paired the move with Utah's release of Brandon Brown under one headline. Five players carry injury tags into Saturday's trip to Toronto, with Jordan Miller's shoulder keeping him out until a return date of March 1, 2027.

Loyer's camp run ends before the trip to Toronto.

Fletcher Loyer left the Clippers on October 7. Hoops Rumors grouped the move with Utah waiving Brandon Brown under the headline "Jazz Waive Brown, Clippers Waive Loyer." Blake Wesley, added alongside Loyer in late September, stays on the roster. The next game is Saturday at the Raptors, still preseason.

Jordan Miller's shoulder keeps him out well past the opener.

Miller remains out with a shoulder injury, and the return date on file is March 1, 2027 — deep into the spring, longer than any other name on the health list.

Beal and Sanders both target Saturday without a guarantee.

Bradley Beal (knee) and Kobe Sanders (hip) both list October 10 as a possible return, reassessed day by day rather than cleared outright. That date lines up with the preseason game at Toronto, though neither has been confirmed to play.

Ingram's Achilles recovery remains the swing factor for the opener.

Brandon Ingram is out with the Achilles injury diagnosed September 28, and the return date on file is November 1, after the October 21 opener against the Kings. Whether that holds is the question hanging over camp this week.

Is Brandon Ingram playing in the Clippers' season opener?

Who left the Clippers this week?
