Outside reporting this week leaned on roster depth and an old deal rather than new Clippers facts. Most of it checks out against what the club has already put on the books; one storyline does not.

Camp's guard spots remain unsettled in outside coverage.
Hoops Rumors' Luke Adams grouped the Clippers with the Blazers and Kings under minor roster moves on October 8, without saying what moved. Clipperholics' Iliyan Lakhani argued the same day that Blake Wesley has only one way to stick beyond preseason, and a day earlier made the same case for Gradey Dick. Both still sit on the roster as published: Wesley at 23 in his fourth season, Dick at 22 in his third. Neither piece changes who is currently listed; it only sharpens who loses minutes if both remain past October 21.
Garland's fit with Hachimura carries real weight now that Strus is out.
Hoops Rumors' Arthur Hill wrote that Garland may help maximize Hachimura's game. The numbers back the idea: Garland averaged 18.8 points and 6.7 assists in just 45 games last season, and Hachimura shot 44.3 percent from three across 68. Clipperholics' Lakhani separately called Strus's replacement obvious after the foot injury already on the books, with Strus out until November 2. Read together, the minutes Strus leaves behind have to land somewhere, and Garland-to-Hachimura is the connection the Clippers' own numbers support best.
A departed player's hot start gets outside attention the club hasn't addressed.
Clipperholics' Lakhani also wrote that Bennedict Mathurin is already making the Clippers regret letting him go. Nothing in the team's contracts, cap sheet or draft-pick list ties Mathurin to the current books. The Clippers' real draft losses -- swaps in 2027, 2028 and 2030, and two forfeited first-round picks -- trace to the league's penalty over the Leonard matter, a separate issue the report does not connect to Mathurin at all.
Is Blake Wesley guaranteed a roster spot for the regular season?
No. Outside reporting says he has only one path to stick beyond preseason, and the Clippers have not announced a decision.
Why does Max Strus's injury connect to the Garland-Hachimura storyline?
Strus is out with a foot injury until November 2, and the minutes he leaves open are the reason reports point toward a bigger Garland-to-Hachimura connection, backed by Garland's assist numbers and Hachimura's three-point shooting last season.
