Hoops Rumors reported Wednesday that Brandon Ingram is back doing on-court work, the clearest sign yet that his Achilles rehab is progressing toward the October 21 opener against the Kings. Bradley Beal's left knee worsened instead, moving him from questionable to out, while Kris Dunn picked up a new rest designation of his own.

A report puts Ingram back on the court.
Hoops Rumors reported Wednesday that Ingram is doing on-court work again, a step beyond the partially torn Achilles diagnosed September 28. No return estimate has followed, and the clock is already running toward October 21, when the Clippers open the regular season at home against the Kings.
Beal's knee removes him before the opener even arrives.
Beal's left knee pushed him from questionable to out Wednesday, with an estimated return of October 23 — two days after the opener he may now miss. Kris Dunn, previously healthy, picked up his own rest designation the same day, targeting the same October 21 date.
The preseason closed on a comeback.
Tuesday's preseason finale against Denver ended 122-110, a rally from 15 down capped by Baba Miller's 15 points off the bench in 21 minutes. The win closed the exhibition slate at 2-1, with the October 10 loss at Toronto the only blemish.
One more subtraction trimmed the roster this week.
Cam Christie left the roster Wednesday on a $2.3M deal for this season, the latest subtraction in a month of turnover. Payroll now sits at $193.7M, above the $165.0M cap and below the $200.4M luxury threshold.
Will Brandon Ingram be ready for the Clippers' season opener?
No return estimate has been given; Hoops Rumors reported Wednesday that Ingram is back doing on-court work, a step before any timetable, with the October 21 opener against the Kings seven days away.
What is Bradley Beal's status heading into the opener?
Beal was downgraded to out Wednesday with a left knee issue, and his estimated return of October 23 would come two days after the opener.
