Outlets covering the Clippers are debating who starts at center, how the last roster spots were used and whether the team should chase Karl-Anthony Towns. The club's own facts back the first, only partly back the second and third, and give the fourth little to stand on.

The center story holds up, and the injury list explains why.
Hoops Rumors (Arthur Hill) reported on October 18 that Isaiah Jackson will start at center for the opener. The injury report supports it: Yanic Konan Niederhauser is out with a right foot issue, with an estimated return of 2026-11-08. Jackson is listed as a 24-year-old forward with five years of experience, and Brook Lopez, 38, is the only other center on the list. The reporting fits the facts. It does not say how Tyronn Lue will divide the minutes.
The roster churn is documented; the verdict on it is opinion.
Hoops Rumors (Luke Adams) reported that the Clippers cut Blake Wesley and three others, and Hoops Rumors (Rory Maher) reported that Cam Christie is re-signing on a two-way contract. Both match the club's transactions: Christie left on October 15 and rejoined on October 17. Clipperholics (Iliyan Lakhani) argued the team wasted a two-way spot on a failed draft prospect. The club's records name no such player, so that judgment cannot be checked.
The youth-plus-veterans framing fits the roster more than the results.
The Los Angeles Times wrote that the rebuild includes developing a young core alongside veterans. The roster agrees: Keaton Wagler is 19, and Baba Miller and Nick Martinelli are 22 rookies, while Bradley Beal is 33, Kris Dunn 32 and Lopez 38. But Beal is out with a knee issue and the other injured players are all targeting 2026-11-08, so the veterans are not yet carrying the plan. Clipperholics sorted preseason winners and a loser, yet the sample is three games, two of them wins.
A Towns pursuit has no support in the numbers.
Clipperholics wrote that the Clippers must offer Karl-Anthony Towns top dollar, and separately that they should pounce on a possible Anthony Black misstep by the Magic. The sheet pushes back. Payroll is $193.7M against a $200.4M tax line, with Darius Garland at $42.2M and Brandon Ingram at $40.0M. The 2029 and 2030 firsts are forfeited, and the 2027 and 2028 firsts are swaps. No rumor report in the club's file ties either player to Los Angeles, and the front office is still interim.
Who starts at center for the Clippers on opening night?
Hoops Rumors reported that Isaiah Jackson will start at center. Yanic Konan Niederhauser is out with a foot issue, with an estimated return of 2026-11-08.
Are the Clippers pursuing Karl-Anthony Towns?
No report in the club's file links them to Towns. The idea comes from Clipperholics commentary, and payroll of $193.7M sits close to the $200.4M tax line.
