Knicks Stock Camp, Then Thin It Out Fast

Five signed a day earlier are already gone; Wiseman, Eubanks and Agbaji are the ones who stuck.

New York waived Liam Robbins and cut loose Toby Okani, Igor Milicic Jr., Jaden Akins, Mitchell Mascari and Paul Zilinskas, all players signed one day earlier. James Wiseman, Drew Eubanks, Ochai Agbaji and Bruce Brown remain, joining John Konchar as the camp additions actually built to last.

Camp Turns Over

The Knicks moved fast, then moved on just as fast. Toby Okani, Igor Milicic Jr., Jaden Akins, Mitchell Mascari and Paul Zilinskas all left the roster on September 17, a day after they signed. Liam Robbins was waived outright on the same date. Five names in, five names out, inside 24 hours.

Who's Actually Staying

James Wiseman, Drew Eubanks, Ochai Agbaji and John Konchar are still on the roster, and Bruce Brown arrived from Denver to join them. These are camp invites with a real shot at sticking, not the paperwork churn that already came and went.

The Bill Keeps Climbing

Payroll runs $217.9M, above the apron line the league set this summer. The tax threshold lands at $200.4M. None of the last two days' moves touch the core group; this is roster-fringe business, not relief for the number that matters.

Camp Before Kickoff

New York opens preseason October 5 at Philadelphia, hosts Washington on October 8, then Minnesota on October 12 before a trip to Toronto on October 13. The regular season opens October 20 against the 76ers on NBC and Peacock. The roster churn ends well before any of that counts.

Bottom Line

The final spot fight is real. The New York Post reported this week the battle for the last roster spot "could be pivotal to season." Whoever survives among Wiseman, Eubanks, Agbaji, Konchar and Brown will have beaten out players the Knicks already showed the door once already.
