Lakers Circle Back to Golden State With a Score to Settle

Six Lakers share one return date, and it lands the same night the Warriors show up again.

The Lakers close their preseason at home this week before a rematch with Golden State opens the regular season eight days later. Doncic has outscored every teammate in both preseason wins, and the open question is who else will be healthy enough to share the floor with him.

A Warriors Rematch

The Warriors visit Crypto.com Arena Tuesday, Oct. 13, on NBA TV, one week removed from routing the Lakers 98-124 in Golden State. The Nuggets follow Friday, Oct. 16, on ESPN, the last tune-up before anything counts. Both close a three-game week built on two wins over Sacramento and that one lopsided loss, and both franchises meet again Oct. 21, when the Warriors come back for the regular-season opener on ESPN. Eight days separate the preseason finale from the real one, and Golden State is on both ends of it.

Six Names, One Date

Dalton Knecht, Ziaire Williams, Cameron Carr, Arthur Kaluma, Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton are all unavailable, and every one carries the same estimated return: Oct. 13, the night the Warriors arrive. None of the six has played alongside the others this preseason, so Redick still hasn't seen his full rotation on the floor together, with the opener against Golden State now eleven days out.

What the Finale Settles

Doncic has led the Lakers in scoring in both preseason wins; Sandro Mamukelashvili has been the steadiest scorer behind him, reaching double figures in the loss at Golden State (15) and the home win over Sacramento (19). Austin Reaves has yet to post a top scoring line in any of the three games logged. How many regulars Redick plays against Golden State and Denver, against a six-man injury list that may or may not clear by Tuesday, is the last real look before the Clippers arrive Oct. 23.

When do the Lakers play next?

The Lakers host the Warriors Tuesday, Oct. 13 on NBA TV, then the Nuggets Friday, Oct. 16 on ESPN, both preseason games at Crypto.com Arena.

Which Lakers are hurt heading into this week?

Dalton Knecht, Ziaire Williams, Cameron Carr, Arthur Kaluma, Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton are all out, each with an estimated return of Oct. 13.
