Tuesday night at Crypto.com Arena ended with Austin Reaves pouring in 28 points, only for Golden State to pull away late in an 89-101 loss. By Wednesday morning the roster had already changed again, with Cole Swider gone and Jake Fischer naming the Lakers among teams exploring trades.

Trade Winds

Jake Fischer reported Wednesday that the Lakers are one of several teams, along with Milwaukee and Memphis, exploring trades this week. No names have surfaced yet, and nothing ties the talks to a specific position or player. The report lands with the payroll already above the luxury tax line, raising the stakes of any deal that moves real money.

Camp Keeps Turning

Cole Swider left the roster Wednesday, days after Rafael Castro arrived while William Kyle III departed. Dan Woike reported the Lakers signed Young and Tait-Jones to camp deals the same day. Arthur Kaluma and Dalton Knecht were also cleared Tuesday, trimming the injury list.

One Game to Go

Austin Reaves scored 28 points with seven assists in Tuesday's loss to Golden State, the Lakers' second defeat in three preseason games. Four injured players, including Collin Sexton and Ziaire Williams, carry an estimated return of Oct. 16, the date the Lakers close the preseason at home against Denver, five days before the regular-season opener against the Warriors.

When do the Lakers play again?

They close the preseason Thursday, Oct. 16, at home against Denver on ESPN, the last tune-up before the Oct. 21 opener against Golden State.

Are the Lakers involved in trade talks?

Jake Fischer reported Oct. 15 that the Lakers are among teams exploring trades, though no players have been named.
