Phoenix beat San Antonio 102-98 on Oct. 10 without Devin Booker, and now turns to a Wednesday rematch at the Spurs with Booker and Miles Bridges both targeting a return. Khaman Maluach held his own on the boards against Victor Wembanyama in the win.

Rematch set for Wednesday. Phoenix and San Antonio meet again Wednesday, Oct. 14, this time in San Antonio, four days after the Suns' 102-98 preseason win at home. Both Devin Booker and Miles Bridges carry Oct. 14 as their target return date, which would put Phoenix closer to full strength for the rematch.
Two return dates, one game. Booker (rest) and Bridges (right ankle and leg) are both day-to-day, each with an estimated Oct. 14 return — the same date as the rematch, after both sat out the Oct. 10 win.
Mark Williams still out. Mark Williams has not played since a left shoulder and arm injury in September, and no timetable exists before Feb. 3, 2027. Phoenix has gone through camp and three preseason games without its projected starting center.
Maluach holds his own. Khaman Maluach put up 10 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in 23 minutes against Victor Wembanyama's Spurs. Arizona Sports' Kellan Olson wrote that the rookie center fared well in the matchup, a sign Phoenix already has an answer at the five.
Kennard's two-way game. Luke Kennard scored a game-high 20 points on 8-for-15 shooting with four 3-pointers, adding five rebounds and four assists in 25 minutes. Bright Side of the Sun's John Voita wrote the stretch has shown Kennard offers more than catch-and-shoot scoring for Phoenix.
Minutes climb without them. Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and Oso Ighodaro have all seen their playing time spike over the last three games whenever a starter sits — Green up 13 minutes per game, Brooks up eight, Ighodaro up 12 — with scoring climbing alongside the minutes.
Open question on minutes. Once Booker and Bridges are both healthy, Jordan Ott will have to trim minutes somewhere, with Green, Kennard and Brooks all producing this week. How Ott divides those minutes starting Oct. 14 is still unanswered.
When do the Suns play the Spurs again?
Phoenix visits San Antonio on Wednesday, Oct. 14, the second of two preseason meetings between the teams.
Are Devin Booker and Miles Bridges expected back for the Spurs rematch?
Both are listed day-to-day — Booker with rest, Bridges with a right ankle and leg issue — and each has an estimated Oct. 14 return.
