Milwaukee rested eight regulars for Wednesday's 104-125 loss to Chicago, and the injury list now gives each of them the same target: Friday's preseason game at Indiana. Nate Ament's ankle picked up that date too, while the reserves who played heavy minutes in their place — Burries, Jakucionis and Kam Jones — get another audition before the regulars return.

Wednesday
Chicago pulled away early and never let up, winning 125-104 at Fiserv Forum while Milwaukee sat eight regulars. Brayden Burries led the group that played, scoring 19 points with five assists; Kasparas Jakucionis added 18 on a perfect 11-for-11 night at the line; Ousmane Dieng grabbed 11 rebounds. Kam Jones scored 23 off the bench. The Bulls' biggest lead was 11; Milwaukee's was 1.
Thursday
By Thursday the injury list filled in the rest of the story. Porter, Trent, Herro, Kuzma, Rollins, Green, Turner and Jaquez — the eight who sat — all carry day-to-day tags for rest, each with an estimated return date of Friday, October 16. Nate Ament's left ankle issue, open since last week, now points to that same date.
Friday
Milwaukee visits Indiana for a preseason game, its own health report crowded: Rick Carlisle is missing Johnny Furphy to a right knee issue, with T.J. McConnell, Jarace Walker, Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard all day-to-day. The Pacers finished 19-63 last season, the East's worst record. Both teams carry 0-0 records in a season that has not started.
Next week
One more preseason game remains, then the real schedule starts: Milwaukee opens the regular season October 21 at Washington, hosts Chicago again October 23, then visits Philadelphia October 24 on NBA TV. The exhibition record stands at 1-2, with wins at Oklahoma City and losses at Charlotte and home to Chicago.
Why did the Bucks rest eight players against the Bulls?
Milwaukee listed Porter, Trent, Herro, Kuzma, Rollins, Green, Turner and Jaquez as day-to-day for rest on October 14, all pointing to a return on October 16 at Indiana.
When do the Bucks play next?
Milwaukee visits the Indiana Pacers on Friday, October 16, in its final tune-up before the regular season opens October 21 at Washington.
