The last day and a half produced no transactions, leaving Tuesday's preseason opener against New Orleans as the nearest fixed point. Thomas Sorber and Otega Oweh each carry a return estimate of October 6, the same date the Pelicans come to town.

Two Timelines Converge

Thomas Sorber (right knee) and Otega Oweh (left lower leg) have each been sidelined, and both carry an estimated return of October 6. That is also the date Oklahoma City opens its preseason slate against New Orleans, so Tuesday doubles as the first real look at where each player stands.

What New Orleans Brings

The Pelicans finished last season 26-56, with a 113.3 offense and a 117.6 defense producing a -4.4 net rating at a 101.4 pace. Trey Murphy III averaged 21.5 points and Zion Williamson 21.0 across 62 games last season; Bryce McGowens is questionable for Tuesday with a toe issue.

A Name in the Extension Talk

RealGM reported on October 5 that Cason Wallace is among four candidates — alongside Brandon Miller, Anthony Black and Brandin Podziemski — for a new extension this fall. Oklahoma City has not confirmed any talks, and the report did not specify terms. Wallace heads into the preseason without a deal in hand, the open question hanging over this stretch of camp, with no next step reported yet.

Who is the Thunder's next opponent?

Oklahoma City plays a preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans on October 6.

Is Cason Wallace getting a contract extension?

Nothing is confirmed. RealGM named him as a candidate for an extension on October 5, but no talks or terms have been reported.
