The move
Drew Timme, a 26-year-old forward with two seasons of experience, joins the Phoenix Suns. He was detected on the club's official roster on Monday, Oct. 19. The money
Timme's contract is not on file yet, so his cap hit and the number of years are not announced. Public salary data can lag a signing by a day. Phoenix carries $216.2M across 18 contracts for 2026-27. That is over the first apron of $209.0M and below the second apron of $221.7M. The cap is $165.0M and the tax line is $200.4M, so the Suns are above both. Any addition adds to that total.
The fit
Timme played 27 games last season at 8.7 minutes, averaging 3.4 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists. Phoenix's rotation last season was led by Devin Booker at 33.5 minutes, then Dillon Brooks, Grayson Allen, Collin Gillespie and Royce O'Neale. Mark Williams played 23.6 minutes and Jordan Goodwin 22.5. Timme's role is not announced. The roster stands at 17 players, against a standard limit of 15 plus three two-way spots.
