Sensabaugh is day-to-day with a left hip injury and will miss Sunday's preseason opener at the Nuggets. Utah turns to its regular frontcourt and backcourt rotation to cover his minutes in the opener.
What happened
Sensabaugh was added to the Utah Jazz injury report Sunday at 6:11 p.m. ET as day-to-day with a left hip injury, listed under hip, torso and left side designations. He was not previously on the report. Shreyas Laddha of The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Sensabaugh won't play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Denver Nuggets because of the left hip injury. The team lists his expected return as Oct. 6.
What it means for the Jazz
Utah opens its preseason slate Sunday at 7 p.m. ET against the Nuggets on NBA TV without Sensabaugh. Last season he averaged 14.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 23.5 minutes across 75 games, production the Jazz will need to replace off the bench. Lauri Markkanen, Keyonte George, Kennedy Chandler, Walker Kessler, Ace Bailey and Jusuf Nurkic form the rotation that will pick up his minutes, with Andersson Garcia and Bez Mbeng also in the mix. The Jazz are 0-0 since the 2026-27 season has not started, so there is no record yet with or without him.
What to watch
The Jazz are expected to update Sensabaugh's status on the next injury report, with his return targeted for Oct. 6. Utah also listed Josh Green, Kyle Filipowski and Trey Alexander as day-to-day on the same report, so the preseason rotation could keep shifting. Watch for confirmation on all four ahead of Utah's remaining preseason games.
